Monday (Vintage) Makes & Finds: Decades of Style Sweetheart Overalls

Et voila!  Decades of Style's Sweetheart Overalls.

The general plan was to use this lightweight, very soft linen & have something quick and easy to wear throughout the dog days of summer.   

Unfortunately, it gave me more trouble than I would like to admit.  The pattern is great--it went together quickly and easily; the problem was . . .

operator error.

I know to make a mock-up of all the pattern parts.  I know to make adjustments to fit my particular figure.  And yet, I did not do those things.  

**Cue much wailing and gnashing of teeth, followed by an entire day of ripping things apart and making the aforementioned adjustments. 

Finally, however; the thing is done.

It is delightful and feels like pajamas and I will wear it frequently until the heat passes.  My panel of critics give it two paws up.

 

 

And now, bring on the picnic!
