Monday Makes & (Vintage) Finds

Currently, it is so hot in Southern California that my roses overbloom or become sunburned in a single afternoon. Still, what would summer be without roses--time to bring out the Franciscan Pottery Desert Rose tea set!

I have been this collecting this for some time now and have amassed quite a bit of it, some of it vintage & some of it modern reproduction.

This actually started with a modern reproduction dishware set that I found at Marshall's for delightfully cheap.   Aside from being super affordable, it was dishwasher safe!  I decided that I needed some near-vintage glamour that I could use daily. . .  and thus began the collection of tea cups and casserole dishes and bowls of many sizes and servingware and such.

Keeping with the theme I decided to brew up my favorite tea: Huntington's Rose Tea.  It comes from the Huntington Library in Pasadena and reminds me of many glorious days in the garden & many tea parties with friends.  There is a secret to this tea: serve with *brown sugar in order to bring out the rose flavor.

  1. <3 One of the many things I look forward to, when we come back is getting all my desert rose back out of storage again. It's such a happy, friendly pattern.
