Springtime Sewing
The weather has changed and I can't stop thinking about sewing new clothes for Spring.
Here is what is currently on my project list.
Blouses: Both of these should look sweet with my green linen wide leg pants from early Fall, my jeans, or some of my A-line skirts.
Pink cotton w/gold deer accents
-I'll use view C (the blue striped drawing) & I'll add a keyhole opening with a ribbon tie like this one:
Gingham Cottagecore Blouse
-I'll be making over an old shirt of my husband's using this vintage repro pattern:
-inspired by this one from Target:
Dresses: It's getting warm in So. Cal. I need something swooshy & comfy enough to stay at home in, but practical enough to run errands, etc.
"Malachite" Green Jersey
-View B (short sleeved): simple, versatile, lightweight, & comfy. Also, this pattern has been on my to-sew list a long time. I'm excited to try it out.
Pink Ikat Wrap Dress (Re-make)
--This was started a couple of years ago and I just wasn't happy with the pattern. I'm going to try to remake it with the M6959 to make it a true wrap dress. I'm debating adding 3/4 length, sleeves. Possibly the fuller sleeves from the Simplicity pattern.
Light Plaid Jumper/Sundress
--I'm kind of a sucker for plaid, and this one is so light and lovely I couldn't resist. As a bonus, I think it can be transitioned to Fall pretty easily.
Grey Crepe Moon Phases Print
--If the wrap dress pattern works out for the ikat print, I think I will use it for this fabric and add the long full sleeves from the Simplicity pattern.
Royal Blue 1940s Day Dress
--It seems that most of my wardrobe is patterned. In the interest of adding a few more elegant solid pieces, here is a second solid in a light, comfy, cheerful, & versatile poly crepe. I've made up this pattern before in a vintage brown patterned rayon--that version is currently for sale in my Etsy shop. *wink.*
If I can get through 1/2 of this by the end of June it will be a miracle. :D
I have another 3 sundress remakes/replacements planned for June-August.
We'll see how that goes.
