It's Costume College time again! This year, for inexplicable reasons, I've chosen to work on a bunch of projects away outside my comfort zone. Namely, two 1912(ish) outfits and one 1920s Egyptoania frock.
This one way inspired by a 1912 Deliniator fashion plate and started way bck in September at a workshop given by the fabulous Mela Hoyt-Haden. (Incidentally, if you are in the DT Fullerton area & have a moment, you should stop by Atelier Mela. I promise you'll love it.)
The dress is actually draped & then tacked to a fitted muslin bodice then lapped with various closures.

This was my original plan for fabrics, etc. However, that lovely vintage coral rayon ripped the instant I tried to sew it. Soooo, on to Plan B!
